Other Lives have a richly layered, almost cinematic sound. They’ve drawn comparisons spanning all the way from Sigur Ros to Fleet Foxes. The band originally formed in 2004 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Band members are Jesse Tabish (piano, guitar, lead vocals) Jonathon Mooney (piano, violin, guitar, percussion, trumpet) Josh Onstott (bass, keys, percussion, guitar, backing vocals). Nearly every member pulls double and triple duty on cellos, violins, clarinets, keys, trumpets, and drums, and in a live setting, the band constantly shifts and repositions to hit every mark.
Hamilton Leithauser announces his debut solo album "Black Hours" -- inaugurating a new chapter in an already remarkable career from The Walkmen front man. The album brings Leithauser full circle and then some, from lonely midwinter piano-and-vocals sessions, to a loud, live Rock n Roll group and back again. Featuring Leithauser with a slew of talented collaborators including Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend), Paul Maroon (The Walkmen), Morgan Henderson (Fleet Foxes) and Richard Swift (The Shins/solo), the album showcases Leithauser at his most passionate, personal and free.
